Bronx Commercial Building — Full Waterproofing System

This mixed-use building in Mott Haven had experienced chronic basement flooding for several years, causing damage to mechanical equipment and retail tenant spaces on the ground floor. BD Construction performed a thorough assessment and installed a complete waterproofing system.

Scope of Work

• Exterior excavation around full foundation perimeter
• Application of crystalline waterproof coating to foundation walls
• Drainage board and filter fabric installation
• French drain system with sump pump tie-in
• Interior drain tile system in basement
• Crack injection — epoxy and polyurethane
• Window well waterproofing and grading correction
• Backfill and site restoration

Since project completion, the basement has remained completely dry through multiple heavy rain events.
